Junior Software Engineer– Mandarin Required

**Job Description** nunuworks operates an online recruitment platform, providing job posting, talent matching, and related digital services to businesses and Chinese-speaking communities in Southeast Asia. We are building a highly efficient and outstanding engineering team in the San Francisco Bay Area to effectively support the expansion of our business operations in Southeast Asia. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively in Mandarin, as you will collaborate with Mandarin-speaking team members and stakeholders. **Responsibilities** * Develop and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot * Build and optimize RESTful APIs * Work with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL * Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend, product, and design * Participate in code reviews and improve code quality * Debug issues and support production systems **Qualifications** **Required:** * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or currently pursuing) * Internship, academic, or personal project experience in Java * Strong understanding of Java fundamentals (OOP, collections, basic multithreading) * Basic knowledge of REST APIs and HTTP * Familiarity with SQL and relational databases * Experience with Git * **Ability to communicate in Mandarin (spoken and/or written)** **Preferred:** * Experience with Spring Boot * GitHub or project portfolio * Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) * Familiarity with Docker or DevOps basics * Understanding of backend system design fundamentals **Benefits** * Health, dental, and vision insurance * 401(k) plan * Paid time off (PTO) * Flexible work arrangements * Mentorship and career development support **Schedule** * Monday to Friday **Work Location** * Hybrid / Remote Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Temporary, Internship Pay: $70,000\.00 - $100,000\.00 per year Expected hours: No less than 20\.0 per week Benefits: * Dental insurance * Green card sponsorship * Health insurance * Visa sponsorship * Vision insurance Language: * Mandarin (Required) Work Location: Hybrid remote in Fremont, CA 94538
