Role Description
**Job Summary**
The IT Support Intern is responsible for assisting the IT team in providing basic technical support, troubleshooting user issues, maintaining IT equipment, and supporting daily IT operations. This role offers exposure to end-user support, hardware and software setup, basic networking, and system administration, including Linux-based environments.
**Key Responsibilities**
**User Support \& Helpdesk Assistance**
* Assist in providing first-level technical support for hardware, software, printers, email, and basic network-related issues.
* Support users with password reset, system access, software setup, and general IT enquiries.
* Assist in troubleshooting desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT devices under supervision.
* Escalate unresolved technical issues to the relevant IT personnel.
**Hardware \& Software Support**
* Assist in setting up desktops, laptops, printers, and IT peripherals for users.
* Support software installation, updates, and basic configuration tasks.
* Help check and maintain IT equipment to ensure proper functionality.
* Assist in formatting, reinstallation, and testing of computers where required.
**Linux \& System Support**
* Assist in basic support for **Linux-based systems** under guidance from the IT team.
* Help monitor system status, review simple logs, and perform basic command-line checks where assigned.
* Support user account setup, file access, and permission updates under supervision.
* Learn and assist in routine system administration tasks for Linux and Windows environments.
**Documentation \& Asset Management**
* Assist in maintaining IT support records, asset inventory, user setup records, and technical documentation.
* Help track IT equipment issuance, return, and maintenance status.
* Support documentation of troubleshooting steps, configurations, and internal IT procedures.
* Ensure records are updated accurately and kept organized.
**General IT Support**
* Support the IT team in day-to-day operational and administrative tasks.
* Assist in IT housekeeping, cable arrangement, workstation setup, and equipment checks.
* Help coordinate with users and vendors on simple IT support matters where required.
* Perform ad hoc IT-related tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Job Requirements
* Candidate must be pursuing a **Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree** in Information Technology, Computer Science, System Administration, or related field.
* Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and operating systems.
* **Basic knowledge of Linux is required.**
* Familiar with Microsoft Office, Windows environment, and basic troubleshooting concepts.
* Basic understanding of networking concepts is an added advantage.
* Willing to learn, responsible, and able to follow instructions.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
**Ability to communicate in Mandarin will be an added advantage.**

Job Type: Internship
Contract length: 3 months
Pay: RM1,000\.00 - RM1,800\.00 per month
