Role Description
BIA.studio seeks a thoughtful, collaborative designer to join our growing practice. This is a unique opportunity for a candidate who desires hands-on involvement in complex architecture projects. Working within our open studio loft space, you will be involved in all phases of planning, design, and delivery, from project inception to final completion.
**Summary:**
This full-time, professional salaried position is based in Boston, MA and is responsible for independently performing a variety of architectural assignments requiring the application of skills in all conventional aspects of architectural design for projects of moderate size and complexity.
**Responsibilities and duties:**
· Perform analyses of design, planning and occupancy studies
· Perform design layouts utilizing a variety of software applications including but not limited to Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup, and Adobe Creative Suite.
· Prepare project specifications, compiling and analyzing relevant data.
· Write reports and specifications.
· Review completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations.
· Make visits to project sites to document existing conditions and construction progress.
· Other related duties as assigned.
**Required skills and qualifications:**
· Professional degree in architecture.
· Minimum of 3-5 years of professional practice experience.
· Strong proficiency in Revit.
· Strong design ability.
**Preferred skills and qualifications:**
· Technical experience in commercial projects.
· Experience in BIM management.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
· Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
· Strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong problem solving and issue resolution skills.
· Excellent follow-through and ability to multi-task.
**Physical Requirements:**
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for long periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including the use of a computer, keyboard, copy machine, printer and calculator; ability to communicate information and ideas in a manner that others will understand. The position also includes engaging in site visits that require the ability to ambulate up and down stairs and ladders and over uneven terrain as needed to navigate construction job sites.
