TransMedics is transforming organ transplantation through the Organ Care System (OCS), a cutting-edge platform combining hardware, software, and clinical science. Our R\&D Engineering team develops next-generation technologies that advance organ preservation and transplant care.
**Position Summary**
The Electrical Engineering Intern will support hands-on R\&D activities including schematic design, PCB layout, prototype development, testing, and electrical troubleshooting. This role offers direct exposure to product development in a regulated medical device environment.
This internship is ideal for students who enjoy building, testing, debugging, and working closely with hardware systems.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:**
**Electrical Design \& Development**
* Assist with electrical schematic design
* Support PCB layout and board revisions
* Contribute to cable design and documentation
* Assist with prototype assembly and development
**Testing \& Validation**
* Develop and execute electrical test procedures
* Collect and document test data
* Use DMMs and oscilloscopes for debugging and validation
* Support electrical rework and troubleshooting activities
**Prototyping \& Lab Support**
* Perform soldering, including through-hole and surface mount components
* Assist with board bring-up and functional testing
* Support lab organization and equipment setup
**Cross-Functional \& Clinical Exposure**
* Collaborate with Mechanical, Software, and Systems Engineers
* Opportunity to observe or participate in hands-on clinical lab activities if interested

**Role Requirements**
* Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
* College Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior
* Knowledge of electrical circuits (completion of Circuits I \& II preferred)
* Soldering experience
* Experience using a DMM and/or oscilloscope
* Strong desire to learn and gain hands-on experience
**Nice to Have (Not Required)**
* Experience with Altium Designer or other PCB design software
* Surface mount soldering experience
* Cable building experience
* Basic coding knowledge (Python, C)
