Role Description

Job Number: P25INT-35 Honda Research Institute USA (HRI-US) is seeking a self-motivated researcher to join our Mobility Research team. This individual will contribute to the development of efficient generative models for end-to-end autonomous driving. This task will entail training and distilling an efficient generative model to tackle the autonomous driving task. A key requirement of this task will be real-time inferencing, which will require adaptation of the model to yield an efficient architecture. Mountain View, CA **Key Responsibilities** * Train and distill a generative model for the end-to-end autonomous driving task. * Apply model adaptation techniques to achieve real-time inferencing capability. * Benchmark the developed algorithm's performance in closed loop simulation and on physical hardware. * Publish findings in a top-tier conference or journal. **Minimum Qualifications** * M.S. candidate in robotics, electrical/computer engineering, machine learning, or related field. * Research experience in machine learning, decision-making, motion planning, and robotics. * Excellent programming skills in Python and/or C\+\+, and ROS. * Experience with ML architectures like Pytorch or Tensorflow. **Bonus Qualifications** * Ph.D. candidate in robotics, electrical/computer engineering, machine learning, or related field. * Publication record in the areas of machine learning, decision-making and motion planning in top-tier venues such as NeurIPS, ICLR, CVPR, ICML, AAAI, ICRA, IROS, etc. **Years of Work Experience Required** 0 **Desired Start Date** 8/31/2026 **Internship Duration** 3 Months **Position Keywords** Foundation models, generative models, distillation, autonomous driving **Warning:**You do not have the permission to access the upload fields on this form.
