Mobile Developer - Co-op

We’re building digital infrastructure that connects healthcare, food, and data to improve health outcomes at scale. **About the Role** We’re looking for a **Mobile Developer Co-op** to help build and enhance our mobile application used by patients and dietitians. You’ll work closely with our product and engineering team to bring core user experiences to life from onboarding and meal selection to health tracking and communication features. This is a hands-on role where you’ll ship real features used by real users. What You’ll Do * Building core mobile app features used by real users * Shipping UI/UX directly from Figma to production * Working on flows like onboarding, meal selection, appt. booking, and health tracking * Integrating APIs and owning features end-to-end * Contributing to product decisions—not just executing tickets What You’ll Work On * User onboarding \& account setup * Meal discovery, selection, and ordering * Dietitian selection and booking * Health tracking \& progress dashboards * Notifications and engagement features * Performance improvements and mobile UX optimization Tech Stack * **React Native (primary)** * TypeScript / JavaScript * REST APIs * Modern state management tools * Figma (design handoff) This role is for someone who: * Is in **3rd or 4th year** of Computer Science / Software Engineering * Wants to **build real-world, production-level mobile apps** * Is comfortable figuring things out independently * Cares about writing clean, scalable code * Moves fast, but doesn’t cut corners Requirements * Experience with **JavaScript or TypeScript** * Exposure to **mobile development** (React Native, Flutter, etc.) * Understanding of APIs and how apps communicate with backends * Strong problem-solving ability * Ability to work **in-person in Calgary** Bonus Points * Experience with **React Native specifically** * Built or shipped a mobile app (even a personal project) * Familiar with state management (Redux, Zustand, etc.) * Eye for UI/UX and attention to detail * Interest in health-tech, fitness, or wellness Why This Role is Different * You’ll **own features**, not just tasks * Your work will be **live and used by real people** * You’ll work directly with founders and move fast * You’ll gain experience most co-ops don’t offer * Strong performers may receive **full-time offers** Perks * Free / discounted meals * Flexible Fridays (WFH) * Startup environment (fast-paced, high ownership) * Direct exposure to product, design, and business decisions Location Calgary, AB (in-person required) Must be able to commute to work Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $58,000\.00-$70,000\.00 per year Benefits: * Casual dress * Discounted or free food * Paid time off * Store discount Ability to commute/relocate: * Calgary, AB T2H 2J6: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) Work Location: In person
