**Description**
We are seeking an enthusiastic Junior Software Engineer with a strong foundation in software development and a genuine interest in modern, intuitive, and AI-assisted coding practices. This role works closely with non-technical business users to translate ideas and workflows into effective software solutions. This role is ideal for candidates with foundational technical skills who are eager to grow, experiment, and develop high-quality software solutions.
**Work Environment**
* Temp position: 6 months
* Hybrid role based out of our headquarters in Downtown Manhattan
* $75,000 - $80,000 annually
**Key Responsibilities**
* Partner directly with business users to understand workflows, pain points, and desired outcomes.
* Translate loosely defined requirements into functional software solutions through iterative development and feedback.
* Design, develop, test, and maintain software components using contemporary development practices.
* Leverage AI-assisted and flow-based development techniques to enhance productivity and solution quality.
* Collaborate with senior engineers, designers, and product stakeholders to deliver high-quality features.
* Participate in code reviews, debugging, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Document code, architectural decisions, and development processes.
* Stay current with emerging tools, frameworks, and industry best practices in software engineering.
**Required Skills \& Qualifications**
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
* Strong understanding of programming fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
* Interest in AI-assisted development and rapid prototyping methodologies.
* Working knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C#, Java, JavaScript).
* Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
* Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
**Preferred (Not Required)**
* Exposure to modern development frameworks, libraries, or tools.
* Internship, academic project, or personal portfolio demonstrating practical coding experience.
