Role Description
**AI \& Automation Intern (Summer / Holiday Placement)**
**Location:** Hull (flexible hours)
**Duration:** 8–12 weeks (University holidays)
**About the Role**
We’re looking for a practical, self‑motivated **AI \& Automation Intern** to support several internal data and automation projects over the summer. This role is ideal for a **computer science, data, or software engineering undergraduate** who enjoys problem‑solving and taking ownership of their work.
You will be given clear objectives and access to the tools and guidance you need, but the role requires a **high degree of independent working**. This makes it an excellent opportunity for someone who is confident exploring solutions, researching approaches, and progressing tasks proactively.
**What You’ll Be Doing**
* Building and testing automation to move data **into Microsoft Dataverse**
* Structuring, cleaning, and preparing datasets to support **Power BI** reporting
* Creating or refining workflows using **Power Automate**
* Exploring and prototyping internal **AI agents / Copilot‑style tools**
* Investigating problems and proposing practical solutions
* Documenting your work clearly for future reference
**What We're Looking For**
* Currently studying **Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering**, or similar
* Interest in **automation**, **data**, or **applied AI**
* Comfortable working with data
* Some exposure to **any** of the following (not all required):
* Python
* SQL
* Power BI
* Power Automate
* APIs or data integration basics
* Someone who can work independently and move tasks forward with minimal supervision
* Clear communicator who can explain findings without jargon

* You *don’t* need to be an AI expert
* You *don’t* need enterprise cloud experience (AWS, TensorFlow, Hadoop, etc.)
* You *don’t* need prior industry experience
