Data Science Intern

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented **Data Science Intern** to support the team in data processing, task monitoring, reporting, and automation initiatives. The intern will assist in maintaining operational trackers, encoding and analyzing data, and helping improve workflows using data science and automation tools. This role is ideal for students or fresh graduates who are eager to gain hands-on experience in data analytics, reporting, automation, and team operations. **Key Responsibilities** **1\. Data Encoding \& Processing** * Assist in encoding, cleaning, and organizing datasets * Apply formulas and functions in Excel and Google Sheets * Create charts, dashboards, pivot tables, and summary reports * Ensure accuracy and consistency of data formats * Support weekly reporting and analysis tasks **2\. Reporting \& Spreadsheet Management** * Maintain and update Google Sheets trackers and shared files * Assist in preparing operational and performance reports * Monitor data completeness and identify inconsistencies * Provide guidance and support on proper data formatting **3\. Priority Task List Management** * Regularly update and maintain the team’s priority task list * Track deadlines, statuses, and task ownership * Coordinate with team members regarding pending and urgent items * Ensure timely updates in the shared GSuite/Data Science account **4\. Service Desk Monitoring** * Log and monitor tasks in the Service Desk platform * Help maintain accurate task documentation and status updates * Assist in generating summaries and reports from Service Desk data **5\. Automation \& Technical Support** * Support automation initiatives using Python, SQL, and Google Apps Script * Assist in creating simple scripts and workflow improvements * Help optimize repetitive reporting and tracking processes * Participate in data science and machine learning-related tasks when needed **Job Specification** Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in: Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or related fields. Basic to intermediate knowledge of: Python, SQL, Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets, Google Apps Script Familiarity with: Data visualization, Pivot tables and spreadsheet formulas, Basic machine learning concepts, Data cleaning and processing Preferred Skills * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * High attention to detail and accuracy * Good organizational and time management skills * Ability to work independently and collaboratively * Willingness to learn automation and data science tools Job Type: OJT (On the job training) Contract length: 3 months Application Question(s): * Please list 2-3 dates and time ranges that you could do for initial virtual interview (only weekdays and 8am-5pm) Work Location: In person
