Visit us on **www.eccouncil.org** **Position Overview:** We are seeking a skilled and motivated Intern - SOC Analyst L1 to supports the Security Operations Center (SOC) team in monitoring, detecting, and responding to cybersecurity threats across the organization’s IT environment. This role provides hands-on exposure to security operations by assisting in real-time monitoring of security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and firewalls, investigating alerts, and supporting incident response activities. **Key Responsibilities:** Monitor Security Systems: Continuously monitor the organization’s security systems (SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, etc.) to detect potential threats and vulnerabilities. Threat Detection and Analysis: Identify and analyze potential security breaches, unauthorized access, malware infections, and other incidents in real-time. Incident Response: Act as a first responder to security incidents, coordinating with relevant teams to contain, mitigate, and resolve issues efficiently. Alert Management: Investigate alerts generated by security tools, performing root cause analysis and recommending corrective actions. Security Reporting: Document incidents, develop incident reports, and track performance metrics to ensure a proactive defense posture. Vulnerability Assessment: Assist in identifying vulnerabilities in IT assets and applications by regularly scanning and reviewing systems. Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams such as IT, engineering, and compliance to strengthen overall security measures. Security Awareness: Assist in training employees on security best practices and keeping them updated with new threats and preventive measures. Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001\), and internal policies regarding security and data privacy. Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify areas for improvement in monitoring, incident response procedures, and security tools. To assist any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time by the company. **Required Skills and Qualifications:.** Bachelor's degree in computer science, Cybersecurity or a related field. Knowledge: Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, network protocols, and common security threats. Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus software, etc. Basic knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.) and network protocols. **Additional Information:** EC-Council is an equal opportunity workplace and an affirmative action employer.
