OCPA Group is a project within WeOwnNet, dedicated to providing a better exit for CPA firms. WeOwnNet is an ecosystem of projects that are collaboratively built and owned. OCPA Group is our top priority initiative for 2026, and it will be powered by the same self-hosted, AI-first platform we’re building across the WeOwnNet ecosystem. Role Summary:
You’ll primarily be supporting the platform that powers OCPA Group, with work that can extend across other WeOwnNet ecosystem brands/tenants as needed. We’re looking for a Swiss Army Knife in Kubernetes platform ops who can take real ownership and learn fast. Our biggest need is deploying and operating self-hosted open-source apps on DigitalOcean Kubernetes (DOKS) using Helm \+ GitOps. This is an AI-first platform, and you’ll also support LLM ops / AI agent workloads running on top of our Kubernetes-hosted stack. You’ll help standardize deployments, improve observability, and add security guardrails so we can scale across internal and client clusters. You may also help stand up our ecosystem-wide self-hosted database layer.
Full-time and part-time available: 40 hrs/week, 20 hrs/week, or 10 hrs/week.
This internship can focus on one or more of these tracks (you’ll tell us what you’re strongest in / most interested in):
* Platform Engineering: repeatable cluster/app baseline (IaC), Helm standards, GitOps/CI structure, tenant onboarding patterns, DB ops
* Site Reliability (SRE/Observability): metrics/logs/traces, dashboards/alerts, runbooks \+ incident/debug workflow, DB monitoring/performance
* DevSecOps: policy-as-code guardrails, CI security gates, scanning/testing, secrets \+ RBAC hygiene, supply chain basics, data access/encryption/audit logging
*Note: You can focus on one track or touch multiple depending on skills \+ team needs. DB and CI/release work shows up across all tracks.*
Requirements
:
Must haves:
* Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
* Majoring in or experience with computer science, engineering, systems analysis, or similar discipline
* Availability during standard business hours
* Comfortable learning fast \+ working across multiple projects (organized, good documentation)
* Working knowledge or strong interest in Kubernetes fundamentals (namespaces, ingress, services, deployments)
* Working knowledge or strong interest in Helm (values, chart structure, upgrades) \+ writing clear docs/runbooks
Nice-to-haves (or interest in learning):
* Platform tooling: DigitalOcean (DOKS), GitOps (Argo CD \+ Argo tools), IaC (OpenTofu/Terraform), CI (GitHub Actions/GitLab)
* Observability tooling: Prometheus, Mimir, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, Alloy, Gonzo (LGTM stack or similar)
* Security tooling: policy-as-code (Kyverno or OPA Gatekeeper), scanning (Trivy), supply chain (SBOMs \+ cosign), secrets (Infisical/HashiCorp Vault, SOPS, gitleaks), RBAC/SSO \+ TLS/encryption \+ audit logging
* Database ops: operating self-hosted databases on Kubernetes (HA, backups/restores, upgrades/operators, monitoring). Familiarity with PostgreSQL and/or YugabyteDB
* Self-hosted apps: WordPress, AnythingLLM, n8n, Nextcloud, Vaultwarden, email (Stalwart/Postal)
* LLM ops: RAG, MCP, OpenRouter, and self-hosted LLM inference on Kubernetes (Envoy Gateway, vLLM, llm-d, or similar)
* AI agent tooling: ConnexAI, K8sGPT, kagent.dev, ElizaOS (or similar)
* Interest in blockchain/web3/crypto
* Interest in traditional finance (banking/brokerage/mortgages)
What you'll support:
You'll be building the tech stack that supports our current list and roadmap including:
* The platform that supports our Ai Agents and Coaches
* The smart contracts that support tokenized mortgages
* Security protocols
* Automating digital marketing, website design, full stack UX/UI
* Ai managed services (internal and external)
* Automating other business process around legal, accounting, financial services, and real estate
The team:
You'll be working directly with the founders and a small team of devs. The last person in the role was a key influencer in our direction and used his experience with us to land his dream job! We're looking for someone else with similar star power.
Compensation
: $25/hour
