### **About the assignment**
During your internship at YourSurprise, you’ll dive into the heart of a high-traffic, international e-commerce platform.
From enhancing our webshops to refining the complex logistics and shipping software that connects our campus in Zierikzee to the world, you’ll tackle real-world challenges that keep our "gift engine" running smoothly.
Your mission? Research the possibilities and build software tools, turning tricky operational puzzles into clean, scalable solutions.
### **What you’ll be doing**
* Investigate complex problems within our systems to understand how they work and identify where and how we can make improvements.
* Act as the bridge between business needs and code by taking what you’ve learned from experts and turning it into clear technical specifications, such as flowcharts or requirements.
* Develop working proof-of-concepts, web apps, and API services that solve real challenges, whether it's helping our teams work faster or helping our customers find the perfect gift.
* Work as a full member of our development team, joining weekly sessions with our team of 30\+ engineers to share your progress, pick up new skills, and participate in code reviews with your teammates.
* You will gain hands-on experience with a modern tech stack. While we primarily use **PHP (Symfony)** and **TypeScript (React)**, we also work with **Go**, **Python** depending on the project needs. You work with our **MySQL** databases and utilize industry-standard tools like **Docker** and **Git**.
* Research how new tech, like AI or Large Language Models (LLMs), can make our tools and workflows even smarter.
### **Who you are**
* You’re currently studying Software Engineering or AI at a Bachelor’s or Master’s level
* You’re curious, self-starting, and eager to experiment
* You enjoy working in a team and communicating with people from different backgrounds
* You live near Zeeland or West Brabant
