IT Intern

OPENING: **IT Intern** LOCATION: **Village of Scarsdale** HOURS OF WORK: Monday-Friday – 17\.5 hours per week RATE OF PAY: $27 - $30 per hour; commensurate with education and experience. The Village of Scarsdale is looking for an IT Intern to join our team who is innovative, collaborative, and engaging. A successful candidate will have a background in troubleshooting and configuring desktop and network hardware as well as experience installing software packages and security patches. This position reports directly to the Coordinator of Computer Services in close collaboration with staff from the Village Manager's Office. **Examples of Work (Illustrative Only):** Assists in managing inventory of workstation, telecommunication and associated equipment; prepares workstation and associated equipment for installation; modifies, updates or replaces internal equipment parts as required; assists in the configuration of desktop, laptop and mobile computing hardware; conducts analysis of current software platforms, mobile computing devices, and network servers and troubleshoots issues; installs software on desktop workstations and/or network servers; assists with the troubleshooting and maintenance of LAN and/or WAN connectivity; may be required to lift workstation equipment that weigh as much as 50 lbs. to place in, arrange around, or remove from the workplace for set-up, installation, repair, de-installation, or maintenance; may perform other incidental tasks. **Minimum Acceptable Training and Experience:** An ideal candidate will have a minimum of an Associate’s degree in Information Technology or a closely related field and one (1\) year of experience where a primary function of the position was the installation, operation, maintenance and diagnosis of issues related to software and hardware and/or associated equipment.
