Role Description

**About the role** Goal Get It! Web Services is seeking a **Software Engineering Intern** to help build statically generated websites and web applications that integrate with multiple third-party applications for Goal Get It! and the Lu Memorial Foundation. If you’re excited about delivering modern, flexible, edge-hosted sites and apps that connect to a wide range of internal and external APIs, and learning alongside an experienced team, this role is for you. **Schedule \& duration** This internship is structured on a quarterly basis (aligned with academic schedules). Interns typically work part-time during academic terms and may transition to full-time during the summer, based on availability, program needs, and performance. **What you’ll do** In this internship, you will: * Collaborate with visual and user experience designers and developers to build digital experiences using headless CMS (e.g., Storyblok) and front-end technologies such as Next.js/React, GraphQL, and TailwindCSS. * Support development on serverless hosting (Netlify/Vercel), edge compute patterns, and render/caching strategies such as SSR, SSG, and ISR. * Participate in an agile environment that includes stand-ups, story grooming, and peer review. * Build accessible, semantically correct, responsive front-ends that work consistently across major browsers/devices, including personalization via third-party data sources (hosted search products and custom APIs). * Contribute to Goal Get It!’s evolving AI-assisted developer workflows, including code generation, documentation automation, and performance monitoring. **Education \& experience** * Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. program (or recent graduation) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field **or** equivalent practical experience in modern web development. * Coursework, projects, or internship experience building web applications (class projects and personal projects welcome). **Required knowledge, skills, and abilities** * Experience (through coursework/projects/internships) with modern web development using technologies such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Node, React, and Next.js. * Familiarity with building or consuming APIs (REST and/or GraphQL) and working with structured data. * Understanding of (or strong interest in) web standards, usability, and accessibility best practices. * Comfort using Git and collaborating via pull requests and code review. **Nice to have** * Exposure to headless CMS (e.g., Storyblok) and content-driven sites. * Familiarity with TailwindCSS, component libraries, or Storybook. * Experience using AI development tools in a thoughtful, responsible way. * Interest in performance, caching, and modern rendering strategies (SSR/SSG/ISR). **Working conditions** May occasionally require schedule flexibility to support deadlines or releases, with consideration for academic commitments. **Compensation** This role is open to candidates regardless of location. Compensation will be based on the location of the successful candidate. **Expected pay range (hourly, USD): $45\.00 – $79\.00\.** Goal Get It! and Lu Memorial Foundation provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the organization reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable roles. **Why Goal Get It! is for you** At Goal Get It!, our mission is to expand access to opportunity by making programs, scholarships, and application processes easier to find, understand, and complete. In partnership with the Lu Memorial Foundation, we build reliable, accessible digital services that connect students and communities to the resources and support that help them move forward. **Additional statements** The job duties listed are typical examples of work performed by positions in this job classification and are not designed to contain or be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, tasks, and responsibilities. Specific duties and responsibilities may vary depending on department or program needs without changing the general nature and scope of the job or level of responsibility.
