Web Developer Intern

**Job Overview** We are seeking a motivated Web Developer Intern to join our dynamic team. A keen interest in software development, coupled with a desire to learn and grow within a collaborative environment, is essential. **Duties** * Assist in designing and implementing responsive web interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js. * Support the development of server-side applications using technologies like Node.js, Django, ASP.NET, or Ruby on Rails. * Contribute to database management tasks involving MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, or SQLite; including writing queries and optimising performance. * Collaborate on integrating RESTful APIs and Web services to enhance application functionality. * Participate in version control activities using Git or SVN; contribute to continuous integration processes with Jenkins or GitHub workflows. * Engage in wireframing and UX/UI design processes to improve user experience and visual appeal of web applications. * Assist with deployment tasks on cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure; utilise tools like Docker for containerisation and Ansible for configuration management. * Support testing activities including unit testing and debugging to ensure high-quality deliverables. * Contribute to the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) by documenting processes and participating in code reviews. **Requirements** * Currently enrolled in a relevant degree programme (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering) or equivalent practical experience. * Basic knowledge of front-end development languages including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and frameworks like React or Angular. * Familiarity with back-end technologies such as Node.js, Django, ASP.NET (.NET), Ruby on Rails, or PHP. * Experience working with databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server (Microsoft SQL Server), MongoDB or SQLite; including writing queries and data modelling. * Understanding of RESTful API design principles and experience integrating APIs into web applications. * Knowledge of version control systems such as Git or SVN; experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins is advantageous. * Exposure to cloud services (AWS or Azure) and containerisation tools (Docker). * Strong organisational skills with proficiency in project management tools such as Trello or Jira. * Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen interest in software development best practices including DevOps principles and system architecture design.
