Role Description
**Job Overview**
Cleanfix North America Inc, located in Stratford Ontario, manufacturer of reversible engine cooling/cleaning fans is seeking to hire an Engineering technologist Co-op student. This paid co-op term offers valuable hands-on experience in various engineering disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in technical skills and a passion for innovation and product development. This role provides an excellent opportunity to apply academic knowledge in real-world projects within a collaborative environment focused on manufacturing, construction, and system design.
**Duties**
* Assist in the development and refinement of mechanical systems using CAD software such as AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.
* Support the creation of schematics and technical drawings for product development and system design projects.
* Contribute to manufacturing process improvements through lean manufacturing principles and troubleshooting.
* Participate in the design, testing, and debugging of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and embedded systems using C, C\+\+, Python, MATLAB, and other programming languages.
* Collaborate with engineering teams to analyze system performance, identify issues, and implement maintenance or upgrades.
* Aid in research activities related to mechanical knowledge, electrical engineering, and systems engineering to enhance product quality and efficiency.
* Contribute to documentation efforts including schematics, technical reports, and system specifications.
* Support project management activities by assisting with planning, scheduling, and coordination of engineering tasks.
**Experience**
* Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related fields.
* Familiarity with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, MicroStation, or MATLAB is preferred.
* Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, construction principles, and lean manufacturing methodologies.
* Knowledge of programming languages including C, C\+\+, Python is advantageous.
* Experience with system design, product development, debugging electronic or mechanical systems is a plus.
* Strong math skills with the ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with an attention to detail.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
* Must have personal transportation to the office and a valid driver’s license.
* Previous experience with mobile equipment such as farm equipment, construction equipment and forestry equipment is an asset.
Pay: $19\.00-$21\.00 per hour
