Mechanical Robotics Design Intern
Role Description
**Job Summary**
RoboCollective.AI is offering a remote internship opportunity for students, graduates, and early-career professionals interested in mechanical engineering, robotics, humanoid systems, product design, prototyping concepts, and emerging technology.
This internship is focused on supporting the mechanical and design side of robotics product development. Interns may assist with research, mechanical concept planning, component analysis, design documentation, CAD-related support, robotics use cases, product requirements, and testing preparation.
Candidates may be matched to a suitable project area based on their skills, interests, availability, and interview outcome. Possible areas may include mechanical design research, humanoid robot structure concepts, robotics component planning, product documentation, design requirements, prototyping ideas, testing support, and technical research related to robotics solutions.
This role is designed for motivated individuals who want practical exposure to robotics product development and want to build stronger experience for their resume, portfolio, and future engineering career.
**Key Responsibilities**
Assist with research, planning, mechanical design documentation, product development notes, or testing support for robotics and emerging technology projects.
Support robotics-related work involving mechanical concepts, humanoid systems, component research, robot structures, product workflows, or technical documentation depending on your assigned area.
Help document project ideas, technical notes, design requirements, research findings, meeting updates, and product development progress.
Assist with research related to robot structures, movement concepts, mechanical components, materials, sensors, actuators, hardware planning, and prototyping ideas.
Support the preparation of design notes, diagrams, requirement lists, testing ideas, and product development documentation.
Collaborate with software, UI/UX, product, and robotics team members to support cross-functional robotics development.
Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, project discussions, and internal updates.
Learn how robotics products move from concept to research, mechanical planning, design documentation, testing, and launch preparation.
**Qualifications and Skills**
Currently studying, recently graduated, or independently building experience in a relevant field such as mechanical engineering, robotics, mechatronics, product design, industrial design, engineering technology, or a related area.
Interest in robotics, humanoid robots, mechanical systems, product design, prototyping, or emerging technology.
Experience with tools such as CAD software, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, Onshape, MATLAB, Python, design tools, or project management platforms is a plus.
Interest in robot structures, mechanical design, hardware systems, sensors, actuators, prototyping, testing, or technical documentation is preferred.
Strong communication skills and willingness to learn.
Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to follow project instructions.
Ability to work remotely, manage time, and collaborate with team members.
No advanced professional experience is required, but candidates should be motivated, reliable, and open to learning.
**Why Join RoboCollective.AI?**
Gain hands-on exposure to robotics, mechanical design concepts, humanoid systems, product development, and emerging technology.
Work remotely with a flexible schedule.
Choose part-time participation with a minimum of 8-10 hours per week, or a more intensive schedule depending on availability.
Collaborate with team members across mechanical, robotics, software, design, research, and product areas.
Build practical experience that can strengthen your resume, portfolio, and interview conversations.
Explore robotics product development, mechanical planning, humanoid system concepts, prototyping workflows, and startup-style project work.
**Compensation and Growth**
This internship provides practical project experience and exposure to real-world robotics, mechanical design, and technology development. After successful completion, there may be an opportunity to be considered for a paid apprenticeship.
