Junior Robotics Engineer

Lausanne, Switzerland
2026-05-22

Role Description

We are looking for a junior engineer with hands-on experience working with real robots either in a mechatronics or control/AI field. You will work with a team of engineers with interdisciplinary technical skills to solve a ‘full-stack’ robotics problem combining our own hardware, control interfaces, and AI. While working collaboratively you will be in charge of a particular discipline based on your background. At times you will also assist the ‘deployment’ of the robots outside of our own lab environment to customer sites. This is a junior role where we expect you to have good knowledge on your relevant field and their tools with some experience in practical projects. We value engineers that are able to have a ‘customer feature request’ centric mindset and approach: not optimising or perfecting the craft of a sub-system but define and pursue what is deemed necessary for the success of that project. Being in a junior position, you are encouraged to ask questions proactively and have an eagerness to learn and broaden skills in and out of their expertise. You will be part of a fast-growing cutting-edge robotics and AI team looking towards developing solutions to real world problems. What you'll do (a subset of the below) * Program our robots by combining low/high level controllers, AI policies, feedback control, etc towards a practical task * Prototype / iterate on AI based controllers (ACT, Pi0\.5, etc) * Prototype / iterate on mechatronics (CAD designs, PCB designs) * Integrate mechatronics systems on our robots, and iterate based on test results * Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and be able to adjust priorities * Bring robots out to customer sites when needed. What you bring (a subset of the below) * Have experience with CAD/PCB design software with real world prototyping * Have worked on low level mechatronics integration of a robotic system (microcontrollers, servo motors, sensor, camera, etc). * Have worked on edge computing on robotic systems (raspberry pi, jetson) * Have worked with ROS2, docker, collaborative git repositories * Experienced to deliver a robot until a deadline (competitions, hackathons etc) Nice to have (a subset of the below) * Prior industrial experience * Aesthetic and demo-focused perspectives towards your work * Familiarity across engineering disciplines Logistics * Based in Lausanne. * Salary band based on full time or internship offer * Schengen Area citizenship required. A few notes on applying * Please apply to one role only. If you see yourself fitting more than one, just mention that in your application — we'll consider you for all of them. * Keep your application short and concise. We thank you for not making us read more than half a page. * (Optional): Tell us about one prototype you built quickly, that wasn't perfect, and that you demoed to a customer (or another real user). How did you build this prototype? How did you define what to build? What shortcuts did you take? We are keen to hear your short story, but can also ask for it once your CV was short-listed.
