Junior Control Systems and IT/OT Engineer

By fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, Yeats Control Systems eliminates silos, providing comprehensive, purpose-built solutions to support growth and operational efficiency. **Role Description** Yeats Control Systems is seeking a full-time Control Systems and IT/OT Engineer to join our team in WA or Darwin. As a Junior Control Systems and IT/OT Engineer, you will report to the company director and Project Lead(s). You will sometimes be client-facing, however (depending on your experience and level of comfort) you will be accompanied by an experienced engineer whenever you are working locally on client premises and when working remotely on client systems. You will often be working on local copies of client systems and internal virtual environments. **Main duties will have you** * Programming of PLCs and SCADA; * Assisting with Auditing of IT/OT networks and cybersecurity requirements from clients; * Adhering to the direction of the director and Lead Control Systems Engineer(s) for adherence to standards and best practices; * Assisting in brainstorming of ideas for continual improvements; * Participating in training exercises and up-skilling; * Involvement in the design and implementation of control systems and strategies, led by lead engineers / the director; * Involvement in the design and implementation of IT/OT networks and strategies, led by lead engineers / the director; * In-House and On-Site testing of designed solutions; * Integration of packages and designed solutions under the supervision of lead engineers / the director; * Assistance (in a team) with maintenance of existing or YCS-designed solutions either remotely on on-site. **You will need** * An Eagerness to learn and have a go; * Proven Analytical and Troubleshooting abilities in or outside of the workplace; * Experience with OT communications busses and networks (MQTT, Modbus, Profibus/net, etc); * Experience developing or maintaining PLC and SCADA systems; * Experience in Technical Support and Information Technology Support to implement, maintain, and optimize Controls and/or IT/OT systems; * Clear and effective Communication skills for cross-disciplinary collaboration and documentation; * Familiarity with control systems, process automation, and industrial instrumentation; * Experience in IT/OT integration is highly desirable; * Experience and training in corporate historians (AVEVA PI or other) are beneficial; * Experience with cloud-based solutions and architecture are beneficial. **Important Qualifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; * IEC62443 Cybersecurity Fundamentals certification; * Network security certification (ISC2 preferred, platform-specific is also desirable). **What YCS can offer** * A safe and supportive environment to learn and grow; * Flexible work-hours and working conditions; * Remote work-from-home or a preferred office; * Site-allowances for meals and activities when away from home; * Financial assistance with workstation setup including laptops and associated gear.
