Role Description
**The Data Guyz** is a Sydney-based data consulting company specialising in modern data platforms, analytics, and data engineering solutions. We are currently looking for a **highly skilled Azure Data Factory (ADF) Data Engineer** to join us immediately for a **6-month Fixed Term Contract**, supporting a **Federal Government client** on a critical data platform initiative.
This role is ideal for someone with **strong Azure Data Factory expertise and hands-on experience building scalable, configuration-driven data pipelines**.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Design, develop and maintain **Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines** for large-scale data integration.
* Build **pattern-based and configuration-driven ADF pipeline frameworks**.
* Develop reusable data ingestion and transformation patterns.
* Integrate ADF pipelines with **APIs (both source and target systems)**.
* Work with **Azure Functions** for event-driven data processing.
* Implement integrations with **Azure Service Bus (queues and topics)**.
* Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure **robust CI/CD and DevOps practices**.
* Write and optimise **complex SQL queries and data transformations**.
* Support deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting of data pipelines.
**Required Skills \& Experience**
* **Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF)**.
* Proven ability to **design and build ADF pipelines from scratch**.
* Experience developing **pattern-based / configuration-driven ADF frameworks**.
* Experience integrating **REST APIs with ADF pipelines**.
* Knowledge of **Azure Functions and Azure Service Bus (queues/topics)**.
* Programming experience with **C#, Python, or similar scripting languages**.
* Strong **SQL development and data transformation skills**.
* Good understanding of **DevOps practices, CI/CD, and deployment pipelines**.
* Ability to work in a **consulting environment and collaborate with multiple stakeholders**.
**Mandatory Requirement**
* **Must hold an active Baseline Security Clearance**
