Research Engineer Intern

Fixstars is a software tech company based in Irvine, CA. We are looking for a Research Engineer Intern for the duration of three to six months. As a Research Engineer Intern, you will have an opportunity to learn important skills and gain professional experience by choosing a theme and being involved in surveying, programming, and technical writing. Our ideal intern candidate has knowledge about computer science or related fields and basic skills in software development. You will work closely with the assigned mentor as well as collaborating with other engineers. Essential Functions: 1\. Research and Analysis 2\. System Design and Prototyping 3\. Test Design and Execution 4\. Collaboration and Documentation You will conduct one of the following research topics: 1\. AI \& Quantum-Driven Automotive Design Automation * Utilize AI to combine existing hardware components and test if they meet safety standards and functional requirements. * Generate integrated design blueprints based on successful combinations. * Collaborate with team members to proceed with a project. 2\. Text Summarization and Standardized Output with Traceability * Develop AI-driven methods to summarize multiple documents into a single, cohesive output. * Implement traceability features within the summarization process. * Collaborate with team members to proceed with a project. 3\. CI/CD Standardization using GitLab Duo * Leverage GitLab Duo to standardize CI/CD pipelines across projects. * Design and implement robust systems and testing frameworks. * Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure seamless integration and performance. Must have: 1\. Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related discipline, or equivalent knowledge 2\. Programming experience for more than 3 years or equivalent skills 3\. Experience in surveying academic papers and writing technical reports/papers 4\. Excellent written and verbal communication 5\.
