Software Engineer
Role Description
·
**Build software used by healthcare organisations across New Zealand**
·
**Join a technically led team focused on solving real problems**
·
**Meaningful work, modern technology, and minimal meeting overload**
**About DataCraft**
DataCraft Analytics is a data-driven services company providing expert professional services and tools in data science and data analysis. We deliver our own services and build our own products.
A large proportion of our work is in the health sector, where our software, platforms and services support Primary Health Organisations and General Practices across New Zealand.
We're proud of the work we do and the positive impact it has. Our focus is on building useful, practical tools and services that help organisations turn data into meaningful information and insights.
**About the role**
We're looking for a Software Engineer to join our Wellington based team.
This role contributes to the software platforms we build, maintain and license to our customers. These include tools for data collection and ingestion, secure reporting platforms, data services and clinical calculators used across the health sector.
You'll work closely with the wider technical team to ensure these platforms remain up to date, relevant and continually evolving.
The work is varied and involves everything from developing new features and troubleshooting issues through to testing, continuous improvement and contributing ideas for future enhancements.
As part of a small but expert team, you'll have the opportunity to influence the products, services and systems we deliver.
**About you**
We're interested in people who enjoy solving problems, learning new things and building quality software.
Ideally, you'll bring:
• Commercial experience using .NET (C#) and relational SQL
• Experience using git and cloud platforms, preferably Azure
• Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and associated technologies
• Strong problem-solving ability
• Intellectual curiosity and a genuine desire to learn
• The confidence to know when to have a crack and when to ask for help
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively
It would also be advantageous if you have experience with:
• CoreWCF
• WinForms
• Wix Installer
• Snowflake
A tertiary qualification in a relevant field would be beneficial.
**Why join DataCraft?**
We know most technical people would rather spend their time solving problems than sitting in meetings. Our approach is simple. We actively minimise meeting time and focus on productive output. You'll spend more time doing the actual technical work and less time talking about it.
We're a technically led organisation with a team of smart people who enjoy what they do. The work is genuinely interesting, the technology is up to date, and you'll have the opportunity to work directly with customers and see the impact of your work.
We offer:
• Wellness leave
• Funded flu and COVID vaccinations
• Public transport and active travel allowances
• Physical wellbeing and eye-care allowances
• Modern Wellington CBD offices
• Sit-stand desks and quality equipment
• Free espresso coffee, tea, fruit and biscuits
• Regular team lunches and social events
• Healthy work-life balance
Does this sound like a bit of you?
We'd love to hear from you. Please submit your CV and a covering letter outlining why you're interested in joining the DataCraft team.
Applicants must currently reside in New Zealand and have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
