GTM / CRM Data Scientist Intern - AI Sales Enablement
Role Description
At MOD, we build the power infrastructure behind modern workspaces — in-surface, on-surface, under-surface, and daisy chain solutions trusted by commercial clients across the country. We move fast, we give our people real ownership, and we don't hire interns to make coffee.
We're looking for one technically sharp AI/Data Intern to take on a project that will directly change how our sales team operates: building an AI-powered quoting tool for our Vine Power Daisy Chain program.
**The problem you'll solve:**
New sales representatives face three compounding challenges from day one:
* No pre-qualified leads — their first weeks are spent prospecting cold, without direction
* No playbook — each new hire learns the company's buyers, objections, and product fit from scratch
* No outreach starting point — reps begin from a blank page, unsure whom to contact or what to say
Your project is to build the AI-powered system that addresses all three.
**What you'll own:**
* *AI-curated lead feed*
— an automated, continuously refreshed pipeline of pre-qualified prospects drawn from commercial signals, lookalike matching, and industry data, so reps begin each day with their first task already done
* *Guided outreach sequences*
— AI-generated, personalized first-touch email and call scripts tailored by lead type, industry, and likely use case
* *Onboarding intelligence layer*
— a queryable AI knowledge base answering the questions every new hire asks in their first 30 days: ideal customer profiles, the most common objections, which products fit which verticals, and what a typical deal cycle looks like
* Real-time lead-management and reporting dashboards in our CRM software (e.g., Monday, Salesforce, HubSpot) to track lead quality, outreach activity, and conversion
**What we offer:**
* Hands-on mentorship and weekly check-ins with the team and leadership
* An internship employment verification letter
* An end-of-summer presentation of your work to the company
* For any project deployed and adopted in production, a recommendation letter from leadership
**Required qualifications:**
* You are currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from Bachelor or Master of Science in Business, Data Science, or Marketing / Marketing Technology program
* You are proficient and strong in Python, SQL, and Excel (including VBA / macros)
* You build strong dashboards and reporting — BI tools such as Tableau, CRM dashboards (e.g., Monday, Salesforce, HubSpot), and sales dashboards
* You bring advanced, AI-native skills — you use LLMs and agents as everyday tools, with hands-on experience using AI APIs and RAG-based systems
* You think analytically and turn a fuzzy business question into a clear data answer
* You work independently and own your deliverables
**Preferred qualifications:**
* Hands-on experience in business operations, sales-cycle, or go-to-market work
* CRM certifications (e.g., Sales, Marketing, or CRM tracks)
* Exposure to sales operations, RevOps, or marketing automation
* You are fluent in sales-funnel, lead-management, and real-time pipeline concepts
* Predictive modeling (lead scoring or churn) with light ML
* Experience with AI-powered sales or prospecting tools (e.g., Apollo, Clay, or similar)
