Role Description

Auria is seeking a PART-TIME Systems Engineering Intern to join our Commercial \& Public Sector (CPS) team, where you will contribute to the design, development, and testing of applications used for aerospace mission planning and scheduling. This role is remote with preference for candidates in Colorado or Washington, DC Metro Area. This internship offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced systems and software engineers on real mission systems, gaining hands-on experience with modern engineering practices while helping to improve and deliver operational software tools. The ideal candidate is motivated, curious, and excited to tackle challenging technical problems in a collaborative environment. **WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:** As a Systems Engineering Intern, you will support the development and improvement of software systems used for aerospace mission planning and scheduling. You will collaborate with engineers across disciplines to help translate mission needs into system capabilities and contribute to the development lifecycle from concept through testing and deployment. Responsibilities may include: * working within small development teams across multiple phases of the development lifecycle * contributing to requirements development and system design * supporting technical documentation and system artifacts * assisting with software testing, validation, and deployment activities * collaborating with software engineers and systems engineers to improve system functionality * participate in technical discussions and problem-solving activities related to system architecture and mission workflows **WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES:** * Collaborative contributor motivated by the opportunity to develop cutting-edge solutions that protect and serve both the nation and the world. * Candidates should be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline * Strong communication and technical documentation skills * ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative engineering team * Experience with software development or scripting languages such as Java, C#, or Python **WHAT THE TEAM PREFERS:** * Exposure to Systems Engineering or Aerospace Engineering coursework * experience working with SQL or relational databases * familiarity with mapping or GIS-based applications * exposure to Systems Tool Kit (STK) or similar aerospace analysis tools * understanding of the software development lifecycle * experience with version control systems such as Git * interest in working on space or aerospace mission systems **PAY TRANSPARENCY:** The wage offered will be based on the selected candidate’s college year. $22/hr. - $33/hr. **APPLICATION DEADLINE:**March 13, 2026 **THE AURIA TEAM:** Auria is a provider of solutions and software in support of complex Space, National Security, and Cyber missions of federal, international, and commercial customers.
