Embedded Software Engineering Intern
Role Description
**High-Level Summary**
An Embedded Software Engineer will design, implement, and debug embedded software and firmware to enable reliable operation of development prototypes and production systems. Responsibilities include hardware bring-up, driver development, bootloaders, RTOS or bare-metal applications, and close collaboration with hardware engineers to integrate, test, and validate systems from early lab bring-up through deployment.

**Position Overview**
This role supports software development for prototype and production efforts including embedded systems, digital/analog avionics equipment, and related software tools. The Software Engineer will play a critical role in developing and implementing software solutions for flight systems, and support the evaluation of reliability and functionality of aerospace systems in the face of radiation exposure.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Contribute to the development and maintenance of flight software systems.
* Contribute to the development and maintenance of testing tools and software infrastructure.
* Contribute to the development and maintenance of automated test fixture software.
* See your software through from cradle to grave: from scoping work to minimum viable product to production releases to ongoing maintenance.
* Collaborate with hardware, test, and radiation engineers to validate design decisions
* Documentation of software design, development, and testing activities
**Qualifications**
* Minimum 4\+ years of experience in software development with experience in C/C\+\+.
* Strong understanding of software development principles and best practices.
* Experience with embedded development including microcontrollers, FPGA, ASIC, and RTOS/bare-metal applications.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong written and verbal communication skillsPreferred Skills
* Experience with bootloaders, drivers, and other low-level operating system mechanics
* SITL/HITL testbed experience
* Experience with avionics integration efforts
* Experience with avionics qualification efforts
* Experience with reviewing engineering designs, test data, program requirements, requirements decomposition
**Additional Requirements**
* This is a on-site role for the greater Boulder metropolitan area
* May be required to travel occasionally to support test activities
* Must be a U.S Person under EAR/ITAR regulations (U.S Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident.)
Pay: $25\.00 per hour
