Software Engineer
Role Description
**Company Description**
SPARC AI a software platform that gives drones and robotic systems advanced navigation and targeting capabilities, entirely in software, on standard hardware. Our work is deployed in real operational environments and we're scaling fast. We're a small, high-velocity engineering team solving genuinely hard problems. You won't be a cog — you'll own real parts of the product and see your work ship quickly.
**Role Description**
The Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain software solutions that power intelligent drone and edge device applications. Primary responsibilities include contributing to back-end development, implementing object-oriented programming principles, participating in the entire software development lifecycle, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals. The engineer will also be involved in creating robust and scalable systems to support SPARC AI's innovative platform.
You need to be a genuinely strong engineer who learns fast and wants to work on something demanding and meaningful. You'll work across our stack — backend services and APIs, data pipelines, and the software running on the drones themselves — and you'll be expected to raise the technical bar wherever you land.
**Qualifications**
* Strong foundation in Computer Science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and systems design
* Experience in Software Development with a focus on creating scalable and reliable systems
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code
* Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote work environment
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
**Competitive Package**
* Competitive salary and equity plan
**Location**
* The role is onsite location in Melbourne
