IT Support Intern

The IT Support OJT assists the IT Department in providing technical support, maintaining computer systems, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and supporting daily IT operations. The trainee will gain practical experience in IT infrastructure, networking, user support, and system administration while contributing to the organization's technology requirements. **Duties and Responsibilities** **Technical Support** * Assist employees with computer, printer, and network-related concerns. * Provide first-level troubleshooting for hardware and software issues. * Install, configure, and update operating systems and applications. * Assist in setting up user accounts, email accounts, and access permissions. * Document reported issues and resolutions. **Hardware and Network Support** * Assist in the installation, maintenance, and inventory of computer equipment. * Support network device configuration, including routers, switches, and access points. * Help monitor network connectivity and internet performance. * Assist in cable management and workstation setup. **System Administration Support** * Assist in performing data backups and recovery procedures. * Help monitor server and system performance. * Support software deployment and updates. * Maintain records of IT assets and equipment. **Printer and Peripheral Support** * Troubleshoot printers, scanners, biometric devices, and other peripherals. * Assist users with printing, scanning, and device connectivity issues. * Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs when necessary. * Documentation and Reporting * Maintain IT inventory records and asset documentation. * Prepare technical reports and status updates as assigned. * Create user guides and basic technical documentation. **Information Security** * Follow company IT security policies and procedures. * Assist in monitoring antivirus and endpoint protection systems. * Help ensure the security and confidentiality of company data. **Qualifications** * Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science (CS), or other relevant program * Basic knowledge of: Windows Operating Systems, Computer Hardware and Troubleshooting, Networking Fundamentals (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN), Microsoft Office Applications * Familiarity with basic programming concepts is an advantage. * Willing to learn and adapt to new technologies.
