UX Designer Intern
Role Description
**Job Title:** UX Designer Intern (Remote)
**Location:** Remote (United States Preferred – Austin, Texas)
**Internship Duration:** 6 Months
* First 3 Months: Unpaid Training \& Practical Internship
* Next 3 Months: Paid Internship (Performance-Based)
**Stipend (After Successful Completion of Initial 3 Months):**
USD $500 – $1,000 per month (Based on performance, ownership, and project contribution)

About the Internship
We're looking for a creative, user-centric, and detail-oriented UX Designer Intern who is passionate about solving real-world problems through exceptional user experiences. This internship is designed for individuals who want to build practical industry experience by working on live products, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and understanding how design contributes to business growth.
During the first three months, interns will undergo structured learning while contributing to real company projects under mentorship. High-performing interns will transition into the paid internship phase with increased ownership and responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct user research and competitive analysis.
* Create user personas, empathy maps, and customer journey maps.
* Design user flows, wireframes, and low-fidelity prototypes.
* Develop high-fidelity UI screens aligned with UX principles.
* Create interactive prototypes using modern design tools.
* Collaborate with Product Managers, Developers, and Business Analysts.
* Participate in usability testing and collect user feedback.
* Improve existing product experiences based on research findings.
* Maintain design consistency using design systems and component libraries.
* Present design decisions with logical reasoning backed by user needs.
* Document UX processes and design rationale.
* Stay updated with current UX trends and best practices.
Required Skills
* Basic understanding of UX Design principles.
* Familiarity with User-Centered Design (UCD).
* Knowledge of Information Architecture.
* Understanding of Design Thinking methodology.
* Ability to create wireframes and prototypes.
* Basic knowledge of usability heuristics.
* Good visual hierarchy and layout understanding.
* Strong problem-solving mindset.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Willingness to learn and accept constructive feedback.
* Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Minimum Performance Expectations (Mandatory KPIs)
To successfully complete the internship, interns are expected to consistently meet the following minimum standards:
* Complete assigned tasks within agreed deadlines.
* Maintain a minimum 95% attendance during working hours.
* Achieve at least 90% task completion each sprint.
* Deliver a minimum of complete UX case studies during the internship.
* Participate actively in design reviews and feedback sessions.
* Demonstrate continuous improvement in design quality and problem-solving.
* Follow company documentation and communication standards.
* Maintain professionalism, accountability, and ownership throughout the internship.
Failure to consistently meet these expectations may result in discontinuation of the internship or ineligibility for the paid phase.
