Internship AI & LLM | Center of Excellence Digital Manufacturing (f/m/d)

START / DURATION September–December 2026 (12–16 weeks) **Your Responsibilities** * Connect and curate knowledge sources (central SharePoint, Azure DevOps and similar systems) for chatbot use * Design and build an LLM-based chatbot that answers questions grounded in the available documents (e.g., standard supplier recommendations for new equipment) * Collaborate with ICT to integrate the solution into the global AI platform and governance structure * Enrich the chatbot with operational data (production KPIs, machine signals) via scheduled daily queries from multiple SQL databases (no real-time requirement) * Implement site-based access control and prototype root-cause analysis / improvement recommendations **Your Qualifications** * Near completion of a bachelor’s degree (or ongoing master’s) in AI, Data Science, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable field * Solid programming skills and experience with data handling; SQL knowledge is a plus * First experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and/or RAG concepts (e.g., embeddings, vector search) is an advantage * Ability to work independently, take ownership, and deliver results * Creative, out-of-the-box thinking with a hands-on, solution-oriented mindset * Strong communication skills and enjoyment of working in cross-functional teams (operations \& ICT) * Very good English skills (spoken and written) **What We Offer** * Flexible working hours with no core time and possibility to work from home on a regular basis * Further training and international career opportunities * Corporate health management "PALfit" * Company restaurant with freshly prepared meals and daily meal subsidy * Job ticket for travel to and from PALFINGER * Numerous employee discounts through Corporate Benefits For this position, considering the collective agreement for the metal industry, a gross monthly salary of **EUR 1,949\.22** is paid on a full-time basis.
