AI Engineer / Automation Engineer (Intern)

We are looking for an AI Engineer / Automation Engineer who enjoys solving real business problems through automation rather than just building demos. **The First Project** Your first assignment will be to design and build an end-to-end AI automation system for a cloud kitchen and restaurant business that serves: Pizza, Coffee, Desserts, Rolls, Waffles, Beverages and other menu items. The objective is to create an automated customer journey that handles conversations, orders, marketing, and customer engagement with minimal manual intervention. **What You'll Build** You will design and implement automation that can: **Customer Ordering** * Accept orders directly from WhatsApp * Guide customers through menu selection * Answer menu and pricing questions * Recommend products and upsell items * Collect delivery details * Share payment links * Confirm successful orders * Send orders to the kitchen or POS system * Handle order modifications where possible **Customer Communication** * Instant order confirmation * Payment confirmation * Order preparation updates * Out for delivery notifications * Delivery confirmation * Order completion messages **Marketing Automation** * Welcome messages for new customers * Promotional campaigns * Limited-time offers * Festival campaigns * Discount campaigns * Loyalty program messaging * Coupon distribution * Birthday and anniversary offers * Re-engagement campaigns for inactive customers **Follow-up Automation** * Cart abandonment reminders * Payment reminders * Feedback requests * Review requests * Repeat order reminders * Personalized offers based on previous purchases * Automated customer segmentation **AI Features** * AI-powered customer support * Natural language conversations * FAQ automation * Smart menu recommendations * Personalized product suggestions * Context-aware conversations * Escalation to human staff when necessary **Integrations** Depending on the client's technology stack, you'll integrate with systems such as: * WhatsApp Business API * n8n * Make * OpenAI * Claude * Google Sheets * Airtable * POS systems * Payment gateways * CRM platforms * Email and SMS providers * Delivery platforms * Webhooks and REST APIs **Responsibilities** * Design scalable AI workflows * Build reliable automation systems * Connect multiple APIs and business tools * Create AI agents for customer conversations * Develop backend services when needed * Debug and optimize automation workflows * Maintain clean documentation * Test edge cases and improve reliability * Work directly with founders to deliver production-ready systems **Required Skills** * Strong Python or JavaScript/TypeScript * Experience with APIs and webhooks * Experience using OpenAI and Anthropic APIs * Experience with n8n, Make, Zapier, or similar automation platforms * Knowledge of WhatsApp Business integrations * Understanding of LLM prompting and AI agent workflows * Database experience (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Firebase) * Git and version control * Strong problem-solving skills **Bonus Skills** * LangGraph * LangChain * MCP (Model Context Protocol) * RAG pipelines * Vector databases * Docker * Redis * Supabase * Firebase * OCR and document processing * Voice AI * Twilio * Stripe or Razorpay integrations * CRM integrations * POS integrations **What We're Looking For** We're looking for builders who enjoy creating production-ready systems that businesses rely on every day. You don't need experience in every technology listed above, but you should be eager to learn quickly and deliver practical, high-quality solutions. **Compensation** This is an unpaid internship **.** Upon successful completion of the internship and project milestones, interns will receive a **Certificate of Completion** and a **Letter of Recommendation (based on performance).** Exceptional performers may also be considered for future paid freelance or full-time opportunities as our agency grows.
