Software Engineer Intern

Applicants will join a growing startup environment where technology plays a central role in improving everyday food experiences. **Role Description** This is a full-time, remote Software Engineer Intern role. The intern will assist in designing, developing, and maintaining back-end services that power the LocalButcher platform and mobile app. Day-to-day work may include implementing new features, fixing bugs, improving system performance, and collaborating with senior engineers on scalable service architectures. The role involves writing clean, testable code, participating in code reviews, and working closely with product and operations teams to support reliable order processing and delivery workflows. **Qualifications** * Strong foundation in Computer Science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and operating systems. * Skills in Software Development and Programming, with experience in at least one modern language (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, React Native, Go). * Knowledge of Back-End Web Development, including APIs, databases, and server-side frameworks. * Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and ability to apply them in real projects. * Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. * Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows. * Ability to learn quickly, take ownership of tasks, and work effectively in a startup environment. * Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset; prior internship or project experience in software development is a plus. **Compensation:** This is a paid internship with stipend.
