**Role Description**
As a Software Engineer Intern at Meridian, you will work full time on-site in New York, NY, collaborating closely with engineers and product team members to build and improve AI-driven software. Your day-to-day tasks will include implementing and testing backend features, writing clean and maintainable code, and contributing to the design of services and APIs. You will help debug issues, review code, and participate in stand-ups and technical discussions to ensure reliable and scalable systems. The role also involves learning and applying best practices in software engineering, documenting your work, and supporting integration of your features into production environments under guidance from senior engineers.
**Qualifications**
* Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and basic systems concepts.
* Experience or coursework in Software Development and Programming using at least one modern language (e.g., Python, Java, Go, or similar).
* Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and ability to apply them to real-world problems.
* Exposure to Back-End Web Development, such as building APIs, working with databases, or integrating services.
* Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
* Ability to work on-site in New York, NY and collaborate effectively in a team-focused environment.
* Comfort with learning new tools and frameworks, and openness to feedback and code review.
* Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and clear written and verbal communication.
* Interest in AI-driven products or experience with machine learning concepts is a plus.
