The intern will assist in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining web applications that support scientific research and education workflows. Day-to-day tasks may include implementing front-end interfaces, building and integrating back-end APIs, writing clean and reusable code, and fixing bugs under the guidance of senior developers. The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand user requirements, participate in code reviews, and contribute to documentation. This internship is intended to provide hands-on experience in full stack development within a mission-driven software environment. **Qualifications** * Foundational knowledge of front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks) and ability to implement responsive user interfaces. * Basic experience with back-end development (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, or similar), RESTful APIs, and working with databases (SQL or NoSQL). * Understanding of software engineering principles, version control systems (e.g., Git), and collaborative development workflows. * Ability to learn quickly, troubleshoot technical issues, and write clear, maintainable code with attention to detail. * Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication, and willingness to work on-site in Chennai as part of a team. * Interest in scientific research or educational technology is a plus; prior project or internship experience in web application development is beneficial. **High-performing interns may be offered a full-time position** based on performance.
