2026-03-06

Role Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Test Engineering Intern to join our team in spearheading the evolution of a local AI Server infrastructure. This project aims to empower engineers with advanced AI tools to navigate and understand complex semiconductor test programs and libraries. You will assist in building upon an existing local server running Llama LLM to create a private, high-performance environment for technical knowledge retrieval and tool automation. Responsibilities Include: * Local AI Optimization: Maintain and enhance the existing local AI server (Llama-based), ensuring it remains a robust resource for the engineering team's current and future needs. * TDC RAG Deployment: Collaborate directly with the Advantest AI Software Engineering Team to learn, implement, and deploy Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) specifically for the Technical Documentation Center (TDC) data. With the TDC RAG deployment, the local AI server will understand the 93K SmarTest syntax. * Tool \& Script Development: Write Python scripts and develop internal tools that allow team members to query the local AI server for insights into complicated libraries like Smart Gen and BenchHub. * Knowledge Integration: Assist in "teaching" the local model the nuances of our internal codebases to automate the explanation of complex test flows and system-level architectures using the class and sequence diagrams. * Documentation: Create user guides and technical documentation to ensure the local AI server can be easily utilized and scaled for future engineering projects. Requirements: **Requirements:** * Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. * Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) like Llama and experience with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex). * Strong proficiency in Python for scripting and tool development. Experience with Linux environments and Git for version control is required. * Interest in semiconductor testing and the ability to quickly learn complex software architectures like Smart Gen and BenchHub. * Good problem-solving skills * Positive attitude, good communication and documentation skills * Ability to work independently, as a mentee, and as part of a team * Ability to work on-site at Advantest office
