Role Description

**At a Glance** Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an IT intern to join the ZPE Systems Team in Fremont, CA. The IT Support Intern will assist the Information Technology team with daily IT operations, end-user support, infrastructure maintenance, cybersecurity initiatives, and technical projects. This role provides hands-on experience in a professional IT environment and offers exposure to enterprise systems, hardware deployment, network administration, asset management, and information security practices. The intern will support technical testing, data collection, documentation, and reporting activities while developing practical skills in IT operations and engineering support. **Main Job Duties:** * Provide first-level IT support for end users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues. * Assist with laptop deployment, configuration, imaging, upgrades, and lifecycle management. * Support employee onboarding and offboarding activities, including equipment setup and account provisioning. * Assist with network infrastructure support and server room organization and maintenance. * Support patch management, endpoint security, and cybersecurity initiatives. * Participate in security audits, compliance activities, and documentation updates. * Assist with hardware diagnostics, repairs, printer support, and audiovisual equipment troubleshooting. * Support IT infrastructure and technology improvement projects. * Set up equipment and assist with testing, validation, and deployment activities. * Observe and document test results, collect data, and compile summaries and reports. * Prepare and maintain technical documentation, inventories, and operational procedures. * Perform other IT-related duties as assigned. **Education:** May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with. **Experience**: * May require 0-1 year of general work experience. * Previous coursework, laboratory work, technical projects, or internships in IT, engineering, or computer science are a plus. **Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:** * Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications. * Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 environments. * Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and Wi-Fi. * Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. * Ability to collect, organize, and analyze technical data. * Ability to prepare reports and maintain accurate documentation. * Engineering support experience gained through coursework or projects. * Familiarity with Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) software is a plus. * Interest in cybersecurity, endpoint management, and IT infrastructure. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a team environment. * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. **About Legrand** Legrand is the global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures.
