The company encourages initiative and ownership, giving developers meaningful responsibility in product development. **Role Description** This is a part-time remote role for a Python/FastAPI Developer based in South Korea, preferably in Seoul or the Seoul Capital Area. The developer will design, implement, and maintain back-end services and APIs using Python and FastAPI, ensuring performance, reliability, and security. Day-to-day tasks include building new endpoints, integrating with databases, writing unit and integration tests, reviewing code, and refactoring existing modules for better structure and maintainability. The role also involves collaborating with other developers and stakeholders to clarify requirements, troubleshoot issues, and participate in technical discussions about architecture and best practices. The developer is expected to document code, follow version control workflows, and contribute to continuous improvement of the development process. **Location Requirements** This is a temporary remote position, **but candidates MUST be based in South Korea and able to work through a Korean employment and payroll arrangement.** Applicants residing in Seoul or the Seoul Capital Area are preferred, as occasional in-person meetings may be required. Candidates must already have valid authorization to work in South Korea. Aploki Holdings is currently unable to provide visa sponsorship, overseas payroll, or employer-of-record arrangements. **Students and AI-Assisted Development** **University students and recent graduates are welcome to apply,** provided they can demonstrate the required technical skills and reliably manage the agreed part-time hours. The use of AI-assisted development tools is permitted and encouraged where appropriate. Developers remain responsible for reviewing, testing, securing, and understanding all code they submit. Confidential company information, credentials, personal data, and proprietary source code must not be entered into unauthorized public AI services. **Qualifications** **\=Who can apply** * Current university students, recent graduates, and self-taught developers with a strong portfolio are welcome to apply. * A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is beneficial but not mandatory. Equivalent practical experience is equally valued. **\=Technical Skills** * Strong back-end development skills, with experience building APIs and services using Python and FastAPI. * Solid understanding of software development principles, including design patterns, testing, modular architecture, and version control such as Git. * Proficiency in object-oriented programming, error handling, and maintainable code design. * Hands-on experience with SQL or NoSQL databases, including schema design, query optimization, and ORM frameworks. * Familiarity with RESTful API design, authentication, authorization, and basic application security practices. **\=Working style** * Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage part-time hours reliably. * Clear written and verbal communication skills in English. * Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools responsibly while independently reviewing and validating code quality, security, and correctness. **\=Nice to have** * Experience with Docker, cloud platforms, or CI/CD pipelines.
