Forward Deployed Engineer - Internal Automation

Job Description Digicust automates customs processes with AI. For our internal operations, CRM, and ERP setup, we are looking for a technically strong person who works directly with management, marketing, and internal teams to automate processes, build tools, and solve operational bottlenecks. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will work close to the real internal processes at Digicust. You will identify manual workflows, understand requirements directly from the teams, and build pragmatic automations, integrations, and internal tools. The focus is on our internal CRM/ERP setup, lead and marketing processes, dashboards, data flows, and operational automation. Key Responsibilities: * Analyze and automate internal processes across CRM, ERP, marketing, and management * Build small to medium-sized internal tools using JS/TS, React, and Node.js * Develop LLM-based workflows using APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar providers * Work productively with tools such as Cursor, Codex, or Claude Code * Connect, transform, and make data usable across internal systems * Collaborate closely with management and marketing to identify operational leverage * Take ownership of projects from problem understanding to production-ready implementation Requirements: * Experience with JavaScript / TypeScript * Experience with React and Node.js * Experience with LLM APIs * Productive use of AI coding tools such as Cursor, Codex, or Claude Code * Very fast comprehension and strong problem-solving skills * Independent and structured working style * Reliability: you keep your commitments * High initiative and ability to turn unclear requirements into concrete solutions * Interest in process automation, internal tools, and operational efficiency * **German language skills at C1 level or higher** Nice to Have: * Experience with CRM, ERP, or marketing automation systems * Experience with data models, APIs, webhooks, and integrations * Understanding of B2B sales, marketing, or operations processes * Experience in startups or fast-growing teams What We Offer: * Work on real internal processes with immediate impact * High responsibility and direct access to management and business teams * Modern AI-first engineering setup * Remote work with a connection to Vienna * A young, ambitious team in AI and customs automation * Full-time position Salary For employment in Austria, the current minimum gross monthly salary for this position under the Austrian IT Collective Agreement 2026, occupational group ST1 (entry level), is EUR 3,267, paid 14 times per year on a full-time basis. The collective-agreement minimum applicable on the actual start date will apply. We are willing to offer a market-aligned overpayment depending on qualifications, relevant experience, and the final scope of responsibilities.
