Within Technical Development, the department is responsible for the development and validation of thermosystem control software with a strong focus on artificial intelligence driven engineering processes. The team develops innovative methods to automatically derive software specifications, implementation artefacts, validation criteria, and test cases from system requirements while ensuring seamless collaboration across all relevant interfaces and development partners. After completing the program, you will contribute to the digital transformation of software engineering by helping establish scalable AI-supported development and validation processes that enhance software quality, efficiency, and release readiness. **Job Purpose/Role** -------------------- * You will complete the first project within your target field AI-Driven Software Engineering and Validation * During the program, you will work independently on up to four additional projects in various divisions of the company, one of which will take place at a VW Group brand abroad * In addition, you will complete short modules in different areas of the company (e. g., assembly) * You will engage in various working groups within the Graduate Trainee Community * After completing the program, you will assume your permanent position in your target field and contribute to AI-supported software function development from system requirements through software specification, implementation, validation and release readiness assessment **Key Requirements/Skills/Experience** -------------------------------------- * A university degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Electrical Engineering or a similar field * Above-average academic performance * Interest in software development, artificial intelligence, systems engineering, requirements engineering, C/C\+\+ programming, code generation and automated testing * Initial experience with software development, programming, test automation, validation methods, or AI-supported engineering processes is advantageous * Knowledge of automotive embedded software development and software valiation methods is beneficial * Minimum of three months of international experience during your academic studies through internships or an exchange semester * Practical experience of at least six months through relevant internships * Fluent English and German language skills at B2 level * Relevant extra-curricular commitment * We expect trainees to be ambassadors of our core values - responsibility, courage, excitement, and trust - by taking ownership, acting with an entrepreneurial mindset, seeking diverse perspectives, making well-reasoned decisions, and contributing with customer-focused ideas * Don't forget to upload all relevant documents (especially your CV and grade sheets, but also cover letter, degree certificates and recommendation letters) * Applications are open from August 31 until September 13 but may be closed earlier depending on the number of applicants.
