Role Description

**About Us:** Saras Micro Devices’ vision is to be a leading component and power delivery network solutions provider for semiconductor devices. To achieve this vision, Saras needs a talented, experienced senior-level capacitor engineer familiar with component manufacturing processes and materials, preferably focused on processes and materials used in the manufacturing of solid polymer foil capacitors. The role is a full-time, on-site position, and the candidate will be a critical member of our R\&D team. The candidate will work on the development and characterization of passive component processes and materials. **Position Overview:** The nature of this internship program is to support Saras Micro Devices with the execution of their product roadmap gate goals. Specifically, this internship will involve working with R\&D Process Engineering to develop/improve current processes with a focus on scaling to low-volume manufacturing. **Intern Opportunity 1: (Computer Science)** **Responsibilities:** * Developing and improving automation scripts to process electrical measurement data from testing equipment. * Organizing and standardizing electrical datasets to ensure compatibility with engineering analysis tools and databases. * Supporting the integration of measurement data with analysis platforms (e.g., JMP) to enable automated updates of engineering datasets * Improving existing data workflows to reduce manual data handling between measurement, analysis, and reporting. * Assisting in the development of infrastructure for electrical testing trackers, including organizing data related to testing status and backlog * Building data visualizations and dashboards that summarize electrical performance, testing progress, and operational metrics. * Testing and validating automation tools to ensure accuracy and reliability of processed data. * Documenting scripts, workflows, and data structures to support long-term maintainability and use by the engineering team. * Collaborating with engineers to identify opportunities to improve electrical testing efficiency and data accessibility. * Prepare reports, presentations, and meeting summaries. * Participate in Team and department meetings. * Present progress updates and final project outcome **Qualifications:** * Currently enrolled in Bachelor (Junior/Senior Year) * Program Area of Study: Computer Science, Database Engineering * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills **Learning Outcomes:** * Understand the electrical characterization process for semiconductor capacitor devices and the key parameters used to evaluate device performance * Develop and improve automation scripts to process and organize electrical measurement data. * Design data workflows that connect measurement systems to analysis tools and engineering datasets. * Gain experience working with engineering data analysis platforms (such as JMP) and structured datasets used for statistical analysis. * Build data visualization tools and dashboards to communicate electrical results, testing progress, and operational metrics. * Apply software and data engineering practices to improve efficiency and reduce manual data handling in engineering workflows. * Document technical workflows and collaborate with engineers to implement data-driven improvements. * Demonstrate Saras Micro Devices’ values through work habits, teamwork, and initiatives. **Intern Opportunity 2: (Mechanical/Automation)** **Responsibilities:** * Non-destructive thickness measurement methods (Keyence CL or other) * Shearing methods/tools for aluminum foil and FR4 cut outs * Dipping automation/standardization (panel cleaning (IPA/Sulfuric Acid), panel loading) * Testing automation for thin devices (Huntron, frequency, DCR, leakage current) * Mitutoyo recipes * Confocal Scanning Acoustic Microscopy (CSAM) integration/validation . * SEM automation for RCA (Maps software) * Dicing tape application (uniform pressing) and part removal * Vacuum chuck for screen printing on DEK tool Prepare reports, presentations, and meeting summaries. * Laser automation * Participate in Team and department meetings. * Present progress updates and final project outcome **Qualifications:** * Currently enrolled in Bachelor (Junior/Senior Year) * Program Area of Study: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills **Learning Outcomes:** * Develop designs aiding the use thickness metrology * Understand wafer/dicing tape properties as well as mechanisms for removing passive components from tape. * Design data workflows that connect measurement systems to analysis tools and engineering datasets. * Gain experience working with
