Survey Research Intern (Remote/USA)
Role Description
**Survey Research Intern—Part-time, paid position (Remote/USA)**
Go Beyond Celiac Insights (GBC Insights) collects important survey data from the Beyond Celiac community, providing insight into the patient experience to accelerate celiac disease research. The Survey Research Intern will work with the Beyond Celiac Science Department to support GBC Insights research projects.
*Interns are expected to work on their own technology; laptop/computer will not be provided.*
**Learning Goals, Objectives, and Responsibilities**
* **Develop research and survey skills:** Assist in the design and implementation of patient, caregiver, and medical provider surveys to gather meaningful insights for celiac disease research.
* **Gain IRB experience:** Prepare Institutional Review Board (IRB) materials to ensure compliance and ethical standards in research protocols.
* **Conduct statistical analyses:** Perform analyses and assist in interpreting survey results.
* **Communicate findings to diverse audiences:** Collaborate with team members to draft and refine abstracts, reports, and articles for dissemination to both patient communities and research networks.
* **Engage in professional development:** Participate in team meetings, provide updates on project progress, and contribute to a collaborative research environment.
**Minimum Qualifications**
* Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in the social sciences or a related field (e.g., public health, statistics, health communications)
* Knowledge of basic statistical concepts and experience with survey development, quantitative analysis, and data visualization *(In your cover letter, please describe your experience in these areas)*
* Knowledge of IRB processes
* Familiarity with survey platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey)
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Eligible to work in the United States
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Experience with surveying diverse populations
* Proficiency with Qualtrics
* Proficiency in a data analysis software (e.g., R, SAS, STATA, SPSS, Tableau)
* Familiarity with celiac disease and/or non-celiac gluten sensitivity
**Compensation**
* $17\.00 per hour
* Part-time, 20 hours/week
* Fully remote
* Open to candidates operating this internship for practicums or other school internship requirements
This internship offers the opportunity to work closely with the Beyond Celiac Science Team. The position will report directly to the Assistant Director of Science.
**Timeline**
