(6 months Co-Op Position) The Men's Health Lab at Brigham \& Women's Hospital (Longwood Campus) is seeking a motivated bench scientist for a paid 6-month co-op performing hands-on translational research. Our group studies the binding dynamics of steroid hormones (testosterone, estradiol, etc) with their cognate binding proteins using a wide array of in vitro techniques. Our goal is to improve patient outcomes in clinical endocrinology by filling critical gaps in our understanding of hormone transport. The accepted applicant will assist and work alongside two postdoctoral fellows in the course of laboratory experiments and will have the opportunity to design their own short-term project. The Men's Health Lab is affiliated with the Boston Claude D. Pepper Older Americans Independence Center (OAIC) for Function-Promoting Therapies, placing us within a highly collaborative community of interdisciplinary researchers and clinicians. Required Skills: * Academic background in biochemistry, biology, biophysics, or similar * Laboratory experience * Competency in one or more data analysis packages (R, Matlab, Graphpad, or similar) Preferred Skills: * Experience in optical methods (fluorescence assays, UV/Vis, CD, stopped-flow, etc) * Experience in immunoassays (ELISA) and equilibrium dialysis * Cell / Tissue culture * Microscopy Experience * Familiarity with Structural Biology (x-ray diffraction and cryo-EM) **Job Summary** Summary Responsible for supporting the delivery of patient care, participate in administrative tasks, and assist in various healthcare projects.
