**Role Overview**
Tencent AMS is establishing a core engineering hub in Singapore to spearhead our overseas advertising data infrastructure. We are seeking a motivated Software Engineering Intern to assist in the development of our next-generation ad-data systems natively on AWS.
This is a unique opportunity to learn and contribute to building a high-scale ecosystem from the ground up. Working alongside experienced senior engineers, you will gain hands-on experience tackling the unique challenges of high-concurrency advertising logic—such as real-time attribution and massive log processing—in a cloud-native environment.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Cloud-Native System Development: Assist in building, testing, and maintaining advertising data services on AWS, gaining exposure to technologies like EKS, MSK, and S3\.
* Large-Scale Data Engineering: Participate in the development and optimization of real-time and batch processing pipelines using Flink, Spark, and HBase to handle massive ad-log flows.
* System Reliability \& Testing: Write robust unit and integration tests. Assist in monitoring system stability and troubleshooting basic performance bottlenecks under the guidance of senior engineers.
* Feature Implementation: Collaborate with the team to implement features that support mission-critical, 24/7 ad-tech operations with high traffic and low latency.
* Data Compliance: Support the team in developing technical solutions that enforce strict data isolation and regional compliance for global users.
**Technical Requirements**
* Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
* Backend Foundation: Solid programming skills in Java, with a strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design. Basic knowledge of multithreading and JVM is a plus.
* Big Data Interest: Academic or personal project experience with, or a strong desire to learn, big data frameworks (e.g., Flink, Spark, HBase).
* Cloud/Infrastructure: Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts. Familiarity with Linux environments, Git, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) is highly preferred.
* Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to debug code and solve complex technical problems effectively.
**Preferred Qualifications**
* AI-Assisted Development: Familiarity with AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT) and a proactive mindset to leverage them for enhancing coding efficiency, generating tests, and debugging.
* Industry Interest: A strong interest in the AdTech industry (e.g., Attribution, Tracking, or RTB systems).
* Drive \& Passion: A passion for exploring new technologies and a proactive, self-driven approach to learning.
* Communication: Good communication skills in English and/or Mandarin to collaborate effectively with cross-border teams.
