Role Description

**About the Role** As a Finance Technology Apprentice, you will gain hands‑on experience working with enterprise‑scale finance systems and technology platforms that support Pearson’s global finance operations. You will work alongside experienced engineers, architects, and product partners, contributing to real initiatives while learning how finance technology solutions are designed, built, operated, and continuously improved. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to build strong fundamentals in enterprise systems, engineering practices, and business‑aligned technology delivery. During the apprenticeship period, you will be exposed to: * Core Finance Technology platforms, including ERP and non‑ERP finance applications * How technology demand is shaped and prioritized in partnership with Finance stakeholders * Basics of enterprise architecture, integrations, and data flows across finance systems * Engineering best practices such as code quality, documentation, testing, and release processes * Operational aspects of running business‑critical systems, including incident analysis and root‑cause identification * Modernization initiatives, including simplification, automation, and adoption of cloud‑ready and API‑driven solutions * Early exposure to innovation and AI use cases within finance technology, where applicable **Key Responsibilities** With appropriate guidance and mentoring, you will: * Support development, configuration, or analysis tasks across Finance Technology platforms * Assist in documenting system behaviour, processes, and technical designs * Participate in testing, validation, and release activities for finance applications * Help analyse defects or operational issues and support root‑cause investigations * Collaborate with engineers, functional analysts, and product partners across ERP and non‑ERP tracks * Follow defined engineering, security, and compliance standards used within Finance Technology * Contribute ideas and learn how improvements and innovations move from experimentation to production **Desirable Skills and Attributes** Required / Core Skills: * Strong interest in enterprise systems, business applications, or finance technology * Basic understanding of software development concepts, databases, or system integrations * Willingness to learn, ask questions, and work in a structured enterprise environment Nice to Have (Not Mandatory): * Exposure to or working knowledge of ERP systems, finance applications, or business process automation * Familiarity with SQL, APIs, cloud platforms, or scripting languages * Interest in data, analytics, or AI‑enabled solutions **Eligibility Criteria** * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field * Recent graduates or candidates with less than one year of experience are encouraged to apply. * Must meet requirements under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 and be registered on the NATS portal. * Must be legally eligible to work in India. **Experience You Will Gain** **Work Schedule** This is a full-time apprenticeship from Monday to Friday, approximately 40 hours per week.
