All candidates hired by Jeffco Public Schools must reside within the state of Colorado.** **ABOUT THE SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT** ------------------------------- The Information Technology (IT) division supports the district?s mission and vision by providing technology-based services and support focused on digital equity, enabling secure and effective data culture, and future-focused sustainability. The IT division's major services areas include infrastructure \& network, enterprise client management, school-based site support, educational technologies, a centralized service center, device support and repair, business technology services, student technology services, information security, integration and identity services, enterprise data warehouse, and digital media tools. This department houses approximately 150 individuals that provide centralized technical services to the district. Approximately 30% of IT staff work with schools, students, and community members day-to-day. **HOURS AND DAYS WORKED** ------------------------- **Desired Start Date:** 08/24/2026**IT Student Intern** **Hourly Position** **FLSA:** Nonexempt **FTE:** .12500 , **Hours/Day:** 1\.000 , **Days/Year:** 260 **Salary Plan, Grade, Step:** TNO - Hourly - Non Negotiated , T79, 1 **Hourly Rate:** $15\.16 Effective as of: 01-01-2026 Compensation schedules for Jeffco Schools can be found here. Starting salary for non-licensed roles is based on the candidate's relevant work experience and education. Additional considerations may be given for job-specific certifications and skills. Starting Salary for licensed educators is based on the step and lane schedule found here. **PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT** ------------------------------- The successful new hire or rehired candidate will be responsible to complete and incur the fingerprinting and processing fee of $54\.50 through an appropriate fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance. **RESPONSIBILITIES** -------------------- SUMMARY: Support an IT team in technical tasks across various IT domains under the tutelage of professionals. While gaining hands-on experience, contribute to software development, project coordination, engineering tasks, troubleshooting, customer service, and equipment repair within IT department. Work on diverse projects, learn from experienced professionals, and enhance technical skills in a practical setting. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Engage in learning opportunities to develop the skills necessary to take on the responsibilities outlined below. Interact and communicate with stakeholders, including team members, clients, and vendors. Assist IT team members with documenting processes. Under guidance of IT team members use and implement new methods and tools to perform functions such as development and implementation of project plans; respond to requests for District data; examine new software and hardware and evaluate; devise, and recommend options. Provide technical assistance to customers via phone, email, remote sessions, or on-site, install, maintain and update hardware including; laptops, Chromebooks, workstations, mobile devices, printers, Audio/Video and conference room equipment. Perform other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE Successful completion of at least one programming/Computer Science related course. EDUCATION AND TRAINING Enrolled in a Jeffco Public Schools High School in an IT aligned CTE pathway. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, OR REGISTRATIONS None KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Familiarity with basic development concepts such as design, coding and code management. Exposure to database queries using SQL tools. Familiarity with computer technology equipment. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to low.
