Our Company Automat Solutions develops a transformative approach on advanced material Research and Development (R\&D) to accelerate Time to Market (TTM), with a current focus on battery material development and manufacturing. The approach consists of a Materials AI Robotics-driven System (MARS) that is purposefully built for R\&D, combining machine learning and robotic high-throughput automation. Promising to solve one of the biggest struggles of material innovation—lengthy TTM—it will cut the discovery time for new material solutions drastically: from 10-20 years to 1-2 years. The company’s vision is to employ an autonomous centralized facility with AI and Robotics as the foundation for material innovation, education, and commercialization. Locations San Leandro, CA What to Expect Witness and contribute to materials’ innovation by taking advantage of cutting-edge machine learning and robotics. Gain experience and skills in material formulation, automation, as well as machine learning. Work closely with a team, to execute project tasks related to materials’ formulation, discovery, as well as electrolyte manufacturing. This includes but is not limited to the following: * Hands on with material formulation and testing * Establish high-throughput workflows on materials’ preparation and characterization * Validate materials predicted by machine learning * Work with data processing Requirements * A BS or MS in materials science, chemical engineering, chemistry, or a similar field * Knowledge of lithium battery materials and electrochemistry, especially knowledge with working with glovebox is a plus * Knowledge of relevant organic, polymer, inorganic, and composite materials * Knowledge of relevant materials’ preparation methods and characterizations * Value of ownership, perfection, and perseverance * Hands-on experience, previous internships, and/or project experiences are preferable for their future careers.
