Product Engineering Intern
Role Description
Astorie is hiring a Product Engineering Intern to work on our intelligent canvas in San Francisco.
ROLE AT A GLANCE
* Location: San Francisco, CA. On-site strongly preferred.
* Commitment: 3 to 6 months. Full-time, or 20 hours per week part-time.

ABOUT ASTORIE
At Astorie, we are building the intelligent canvas where creative agents can see, reason, and act throughout the creative process. They proactively explore ideas with you, offer aesthetic inspiration, and learn your taste and way of working over time. Our goal is to build the creative infrastructure that closes the distance between imagination and expression.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will begin with established SOPs, structured QA, issue reproduction, and real production work so you can quickly build context on Astorie's intelligent canvas. As you demonstrate strong execution, you will take increasing ownership of React and TypeScript features, bug fixes, and improvements to Canvas interactions, reliability, and usability.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
* Reproduce, triage, and document issues reported by users or identified by the team, and help drive them through resolution
* Run structured QA on Canvas features and new releases, including regression checks for critical workflows
* Investigate and improve frontend reliability, performance, usability, and interaction quality
* Maintain and refine Canvas components and interaction patterns using React and TypeScript
* Implement well-scoped fixes and product improvements identified through user feedback and QA
* Turn repeated checks and production work into clearer SOPs, scripts, or lightweight automation
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
* Evidence of personally shipping at least one web product or project that you can show and discuss
* Strong judgment about interaction details, usability, and product quality
* Working knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript and modern frontend development, with the ability to ramp quickly on React
* A careful, systematic approach to reproducing, documenting, and following issues through resolution
* Ability to work from specifications and SOPs while identifying ambiguity and suggesting improvements
* Comfort learning quickly, receiving direct feedback, and working in a fast-moving environment
HOW TO APPLY
Email your resume, a short note about your relevant experience, and links to your GitHub, portfolio, papers, or other work to [email protected].
In your email, include the role you are applying for, your preferred start date, weekly availability, and whether you can work on-site in San Francisco.
Please also answer this question in your email: Tell us about one web product or feature you personally shipped. What did you own, what tradeoffs did you make (especially around interaction, usability, or product quality), and what changed because of your work?
