Experience Design Intern

Brooklyn, NY
2026-08-25

Role Description

Early Spring is an independent strategy and research led experiential studio. We build brand worlds you can walk into: activations, launches, immersive environments, pop-ups. Recent work includes SeedAI House at SXSW, Braun Haus for P&G, Climate Week convenings for Montauk Climate, launch concepts for Dreame, and public installations for Bloom and Flamingo. We're hiring one intern coming out of school. You'll watch an idea move from a conversation to a sketch to a deck to a set of drawings to a real thing standing on a sidewalk in Manhattan. We're hiring one intern out of school. The studio is small, so the work is real from week one and you'll see projects go from first conversation to built. Must-haves * **Figma.** Fluent. Component libraries, auto layout, prototyping. Not a class you took once. * **InDesign.** Fluent. You can build a 40-page document with a real grid, master pages, and clean type. * **Writing.** You can write a clean, specific sentence. Concept names, deck copy, wall copy, client emails. * **Attention to detail.** Typos, loose spacing, inconsistent caps, and sloppy file names bother you. * **AI tools.** Claude, Cursor, v0, Lovable, Midjourney, Runway, whatever your stack is. You can get from idea to working prototype without an engineer. * **A portfolio** that shows how you think, not only what you made. Helpful, not required * SketchUp, Rhino, or Blender * After Effects * Front-end or Webflow * Photography * Shop or fabrication experience * Any live event or production experience The person we're looking for * **Proactive.** Brings things nobody asked for. Doesn't wait for a brief. * **Sharp.** Picks things up fast, connects ideas across categories, has taste and can defend it. * **Wants to learn.** Asks questions. Takes notes. Asks again. * **Gets their hands dirty.** Comfortable on site, in a shop, on a ladder, unloading a truck at 6am. * **Builds and prototypes.** Would rather make a rough version than describe it. * **A thought partner.** Sits in the room, has opinions, pushes back when something is soft. * **Curious about the physical world.** Interested in how ideas become real objects, spaces, and moments. What you'll work on * Decks, presentations, and pitch documents * Concept development and creative research * Renderings, layouts, signage, and print collateral * Rapid prototypes: landing pages, clickable demos, internal tools * Vendor sourcing, samples, quotes, and production support * On-site during builds and events Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour Education: * Bachelor's (Preferred) Work Location: Hybrid remote in Brooklyn, NY 11231
