Role Overview -
We are looking for a motivated WordPress Developer Intern to join our tech team on a remote basis. In this role, you will be directly involved in developing, maintaining, and optimizing HealthLetic's WordPress-based web presence. You will bridge front-end aesthetics with back-end functionality while ensuring a seamless user experience that reflects our brand and mission.
This is a hands-on role — you will not be a passive observer. You will own tasks end-to-end, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and contribute to a live, user-facing product in the health-tech space.

Key Responsibilities -
* Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress themes and plugins aligned with HealthLetic's branding and product goals
* Build and optimize responsive, mobile-first web pages that deliver a consistent experience across devices and screen sizes
* Implement front-end components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, translating design mockups into functional web pages
* Troubleshoot and resolve website performance issues, bugs, and compatibility errors in a timely manner
* Collaborate with the design, marketing, and content teams to implement UI/UX improvements and new feature requests
* Perform regular website audits for speed, SEO readiness, accessibility, and security best practices
* Support integration of third-party tools, APIs, and plugins as required by product and marketing teams
* Document technical workflows, code changes, and update logs to maintain internal knowledge standards.
Required Qualifications -
* Currently pursuing or holding a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field
* Hands-on experience with WordPress — theme customization, plugin management, and CMS administration
* Solid working knowledge of PHP for back-end WordPress development
* Proficiency in front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (vanilla or framework-level)
* Understanding of responsive and adaptive web design principles
* Ability to read, debug, and modify existing codebases independently
* Strong attention to detail, self-discipline, and the ability to manage tasks in a remote environment without hand-holding.
Preferred Skills (Good to Have)-
* Familiarity with page builders such as Elementor, Divi, or WPBakery
* Basic understanding of SEO principles and how they apply to WordPress sites
* Exposure to version control systems, particularly Git
* Knowledge of web performance optimization tools (GTmetrix, PageSpeed Insights, etc.)
* Interest in health technology, digital wellness, or AI-driven platforms
* Prior internship or freelance experience with WordPress-based projects
What You Will Gain-
* Real-world experience working on a live health-tech product used by actual users
* Direct collaboration with a cross-functional startup team — tech, design, marketing, and HR.
* Certificate of Completion issued upon successful internship completion
* Letter of Recommendation based on the quality and impact of your work (performance-dependent)
* Portfolio-worthy deliverables you can showcase to future employers or clients
* Exposure to startup operations, agile workflows, and product-first thinking
