**About u-blox**
u-blox (SIX:UBXN) is a global leader in automotive, industrial, and consumer markets, driving innovation through our cutting-edge positioning and short-range communication technologies. We are the pioneers behind high-precision technologies, providing smart and reliable solutions that enable people, vehicles, and machines to determine their precise position and communicate wirelessly. With headquarters in Thalwil, Switzerland, and offices across Europe, Asia, and the USA, we are making a global impact.
**Job Description**
Do you enjoy turning measurements into insights? As a Competitive Analysis Summer Intern, you’ll help us build a centralized data platform to store, explore, and visualize GNSS test results - work that directly supports product decisions and competitive positioning. You’ll get hands-on experience with GNSS software \& hardware analysis, modern instrumentation, and data engineering, while working in an interdisciplinary, international environment.
**Your Responsibilities (what you’ll do)**
* Build a data ingestion pipeline connecting existing analysis toolkits to a pre-structured database (PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB), enabling structured storage of decoded GNSS measurements (PVT, raw observables, signal quality metrics)
* Design and develop a visualization and reporting layer allowing team members to upload test logs, register test metadata (DUT, firmware version, test conditions), and explore results — without needing to touch code
* Implement file handling workflows for raw logs, DUT configuration files, and firmware images
* Participate in measurement campaigns: data collection, test execution, and result documentation
* Collaborate with engineers across domains to ensure the platform fits real analysis workflows
**Your Skills and Experience**
* Ongoing studies (BSc or higher) in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing, or similar
* Strong Python skills — you've used it beyond tutorials, ideally for data processing or scripting
* Comfortable with databases (SQL fundamentals, schema design) or eager to get there fast
* Fluent English (written and spoken)
* Comfortable working both independently and in a team
**Bonus points (nice to have)**
* Understanding of GNSS technology, architectures, and expected component behavior
* Experience with data visualization tools (Grafana, Plotly, Streamlit, or similar)
* Experience with data processing/analysis pipelines and automation
* Hands-on experience with GNSS test equipment (simulators, record \& replay, RF signal generators) and/or RF test setups
* Exposure to hardware design concepts (analog / RF / digital)
**What you’ll gain**
* End-to-end ownership of a real internal tool used daily by the team
* Deep exposure to GNSS competitive analysis workflows, from raw signal to technical insight
* Experience building a full data stack: ingestion, storage, visualization, and user-facing tooling
* Mentoring from engineers working at the intersection of GNSS hardware, software, and competitive benchmarking
