Software Engineering Intern — Bali, Indonesia
Role Description
Location: Canggu, Bali, Indonesia
Type: On-site Internship
Duration: 4–6 months
Compensation: Unpaid internship, with potential opportunities for a future full-time position
The Role
We are looking for a Software Engineering Intern who wants to work on real products, real systems, and real technical problems.
You will support the development of software used across our portfolio companies, including web applications, backend services, APIs, internal platforms, and engineering tools.
This is not an internship built around theoretical exercises. You will contribute directly to software that supports active companies and operational teams.
Depending on the project, you may help take a feature from an initial idea through development, testing, deployment, and improvement in production.
What You Could Be Building
Your work may include:
* Developing backend services and application features
* Building and maintaining APIs
* Connecting applications to databases and external services
* Creating internal tools for operational and technical teams
* Working on web applications and supporting frontend development
* Improving existing software for better performance, reliability, and maintainability
* Debugging application issues and identifying their root causes
* Writing structured, readable, and reusable code
* Working with databases, data models, and application logic
* Testing new functionality before release
* Supporting software deployment and production environments
* Contributing to technical decisions around system architecture and implementation
* Working closely with engineers across different technical disciplines
Your exact responsibilities will depend on your experience, technical strengths, and the projects currently being developed.
What We're Looking For
You may be a good fit if you:
* Are currently studying or have recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field
* Have practical programming experience through university projects, internships, personal projects, freelance work, open-source contributions, or previous employment
* Have experience with some of the following technologies: Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C#, C++, APIs, SQL or other databases, and Git
* Understand core programming concepts, software development practices, and data structures
* Have some understanding of how modern applications are structured
* Are comfortable debugging problems instead of only building from a clean starting point
* Can research unfamiliar technical problems and learn new tools independently
* Are able to communicate clearly with other engineers and technical team members
* Can join us fully on-site in Bali for approximately 4–6 months
You do not need experience with every technology we use.
We are more interested in strong fundamentals, practical experience, curiosity, and your ability to learn and build.
This internship can also be completed as part of a university internship or placement requirement.
Internship Setup
* 4–6 months based in Canggu, Bali
* Fully on-site position
* Monday to Friday
* Working hours: 11:00 AM–5:00 PM, including a 1-hour lunch break
* Approximately 25 working hours per week
* Daily lunch provided
* On-campus accommodation available at competitive rates
* Strong performers may be considered for future full-time opportunities across the group
Important Information
This is an unpaid internship.
You must be available to work from our Bali campus for the duration of the placement.
This position is not available remotely or in a hybrid format.
